Native American Scholarships

The Tepa Native American Scholarship Fund was established to help build personal and lasting relationships with students who will become leaders in Native American communities.

 

Owned by the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians of California, the Tepa Companies are deeply committed to providing opportunities for Native students.

 

We are offering five $1,500 scholarships in the fields of business administration, construction, environmental, engineering and technologies.

Applications for the Tepa Native American Scholarship Fund are available on March 31, 2023; the deadline is
May 31.

 

The Tepa Companies are 100% tribally owned by the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians. Descendants of our owning tribe meet our eligibility requirements.

  • Student is a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college/university for the Fall 2023 academic semester.

  • Students are an enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized tribe.

  • Students have a 2.50 cumulative GPA or above (must provide a copy of their current transcript, an unofficial transcript is also acceptable).

  • Students must provide a copy of their resume and provide an essay.

  • 500-1000 words;
  • Introduce yourself: name, tribal affiliation, degree, major and school year.
  • What inspired you to pursue the degree and career path you have chosen? What challenges have you faced with attending college – personal or academic – and how did you overcome them?
  • What are your professional goals? How will you use this scholarship and your education to achieve these goals?
  • Share your tribal heritage and what it means to you. Describe how your career plan can make a positive impact in Indian Country.
